NANDAN CINEMA OF MEERUT CLOSES DOWN FOR CONVERSION INTO MULTIPLEX | 22 February, 2021

Nandan Cinema, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) has closed down for conversion into a three-screen multiplex. The multiplex will have a total of 700 seats. It will be housed on the topmost floor of a building which will have a shopping mall too. The building will have 40,000 square feet of additional commercial space and a double basement for parking.

Nandan Cinema opened in 1974 with Duniya Ka Mela. Centrally located in Meerut, it used to be the highest entertainment tax-paying cinema of Western U.P. and among the very successful single-screen cinemas with huge weekly occupancies. Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! had had a 57-week run at the cinema, with even the last show being house full.
