The Narcotics Control Bureau has submitted draft charges against all the 35 accused in the drugs case being probed in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020. Among the accused are his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her brother, Showik. They are both out on bail.
After hearing arguments on the proposed charges, the court will decide which charges, if any, are to be framed against the accused or whether they are to be dropped. Subsequently, if the court does frame charges, the accused then plead either not guilty or guilty. In case they plead not guilty, the trial commences.
A few accused have moved pleas seeking discharge from the case. The matter will come up for hearing on July 12.
