NCB FILES PETITION IN SC FOR CANCELLATION OF RHEA’S BAIL | 16 March, 2021

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court to challenge the bail granted to Rhea Chakraborty in the drugs case related to the suicide by her actor-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea had been granted bail by the Bombay high court in October 2020 as it felt, she was neither a part of any drug dealer chain nor was anything recovered from her. The SLP was filed on February 19, 2021, and the same was verified on March 12. The case will likely come up for hearing on March 18 before a bench of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and Justices A.S. Bopanna and Rama Subramanian.
