The trailer launch of T-Series and Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd.’s Metro… In Dino on 4th June at Rang Mandir, Bandra, Bombay was an entertaining as well as refreshingly different experience. A special trailer was cut for the occasion as it was juxtaposed with live appearances by all the eight lead actors of the film. After this juxtaposed-with-live-actors audio visual screening, the actual trailer was screened.
The sequel to Life In A Metro stars Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma. It talks of the love stories of four couples in an urban set-up. The film is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu and Taani Basu. Its music is scored by Pritam with whom Anurag Basu shares a special bond which started with Gangster (2006) and has continued in each and every film (except Rakesh Roshan’s Kites) made by the filmmaker during the 19 years after that.
Following the screening of the trailer to a fantastic response, it was time for the cast and crew to answer questions from the media. But there was an interesting twist to the usual Q & A format of press conferences and trailer launch events. In a role reversal, the ten people seated on the dais — eight actors, director Anurag Basu and producer Bhushan Kumar — asked the media persons questions on love. In other words, it was the members of the fourth estate who had to field questions from the celebrities this time.
Of course, after the questions by the celebrities and the replies by the media persons were done, it was time for the media to shoot their questions, which were sportingly answered by the team of ten.
If the trailer and the trailer launch event are anything to go by, Metro… In Dino looks like a film that’s going to soon become one to be looked forward to by members of the public. The ensemble cast film is slated for release on 4th July.
