NO CONFIRMATION OF DEATH OF BALAJI TELEFILMS’ MISSING EX-COO | 2 November, 2022

The brother of Balaji Telefilms’ missing erstwhile COO Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan has said that the Kenyan authorities had no confirmation about whether he was dead or alive. Iftikhar Khan is the eldest brother while Zulfiqar, the youngest of six siblings. Zulfiqar along with his friend, Zaid Kidwai, and their local driver were abducted from Nairobi in July this year. An aide of Kenyan President William Ruto claimed that the three had been murdered by the Special Services Unit police force for aiding the President’s election campaign.

However, the director of investigations has rubbished all the reports that are appearing in Kenyan media about the killings. The Kenyan authorities have admitted that their search so far was inconclusive. Meanwhile, the Indian high commission has clearly enunciated that the probe should be based on evidence, not hearsay.

Zulfiqar resigned from Balaji Telefilms on July 15, and informed his family that he was headed to the Masai Mara sanctuary for a sabbatical from work in India. According to Iftikhar, Zulfiqar had not informed his family or acquaintances that he was visiting Kenya to assist in the election campaign of President William Ruto.
