The Delhi police on March 12 said that there was nothing suspicious about Satish Kaushik’s death. As per the post-mortem report, the preliminary cause of death is cardiac arrest. “During enquiry conducted so far, nothing suspicious or foul play came on record,” Rajeev Kumar, additional DCP, South West, Delhi Police, said.
The well-known actor-producer-director passed away in the early morning hours of March 9 after celebrating Holi on 8th with family and friends in NCR. The estranged wife of a businessman-friend of Kaushik claimed that her husband had murdered Satish as the latter owed her husband several crores of rupees.
Satish Kaushik was taken to hospital by his manager after he felt uneasy in the wee hours of 9th morning. He was declared brought dead by the hospital. According to the actor-filmmaker’s manager, Santosh Rai, Satish had celebrated Holi till 3 p.m. on 8th, but there was no party in the evening or night, as alleged. Around 12 midnight, he called Santosh, who was staying in the adjoining room of the same house of Satish Kaushik’s businessman-friend, and complained of uneasiness and chest pain. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Except for some medicines, nothing else was found in the room in which Satish was staying.
Later in the day, a post-mortem was conducted by a board of doctors at the DDU Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family. According to the autopsy report, the preliminary cause of the death was cardiac arrest caused by coronary artery blockage associated with coronary artery disease.
