Senior NCP leader Jitendra Awhad and 100 unidentified workers of the party were booked on November 8 for disrupting a show of Marathi film Har Har Mahadev at Cinepolis Thane in Viviana Mall the previous night and for assaulting a man among the audience, who objected. Awhad had alleged that the film distorted history and depicted historical characters in poor light.
The police said, a case of assault and under various IPC sections for rioting had been filed. However, no arrest was made.
Businessman Parikshit Durve filed a complaint, saying that he suffered blows, punches and kicks from the NCP mob when he protested the stalling of the show.
