PRABHAKAR JOG PASSES AWAY | 1 November, 2021

Veteran violin exponent and music director Prabhakar Jog passed away yesterday (31st October) morning in a hospital in Pune due to age-related illnesses. He was 88. Given his mastery with the violin, he reproduced popular Hindi and Marathi film songs with the instrument. He collaborated with composer Sudhir Phadke and writer G.D. Madgulkar to produce the Geet Ramayana albums which were broadcast on All India Radio’s Pune station between 1955 and 1956, and which are now iconic. He also collaborated with music directors like S.D. Burman, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Khayyam and Anu Malik.
