Actor Prabhas had the public going crazy yesterday (22nd May) at an event held in Hyderabad to introduce a character of the film to members of the media. The character introduced is Bujji, a special robotic car made by Anand Mahindra’s team for Nag Ashwin, director of Kalki 2898 AD.
The car prototype was designed by Nag Ashwin’s team, to play a key character in the film made at a reported budget of Rs. 400 crore (including promotion). Although the shooting of the entire film was done with the dummy robotic car, the real car was made for promotional purposes mainly. As can be seen in the picture, the car looks like something one has never seen before. In the film, Bujji is Bhairava’s (name of character played by Prabhas) robot/car.
At the event, Prabhas made a dramatic entry in the real robotic car amidst deafening applause from thousands of his fans. Nag Ashwin intends taking the robotic car to various cities across India as part of the pre-release promotion of the film which is slated for release on 24th June. After his grand entry, Prabhas thanked Nag Ashwin and producer Ashwini Dutt for having made him a part of the futuristic film. He also said that he considered himself extremely lucky for having gotten the chance to act with Amitabh Bachchan whom he has been a fan of all his life. He also mentioned that he was happy to have got the opportunity to work with Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.
In the film, Keerthy Suresh is the voice of Bujji.
