PROTESTORS OUTSIDE SALMAN HOUSE ARRESTED | 12 October, 2019

The Bandra (Bombay) police on 11th October arrested 20 persons for protesting outside the residence of Salman Khan against his announcement in Bigg Boss 13, which he hosts, that the male and female participants would share a bed. The police are on the lookout for Updesh Rana, general secretary of the Rajasthan-based outfit, Vishwa Sanatan Sangh, who was the leader of the protestors. Rana had on 8th October shot a video outside Salman’s building, Galaxy Apartments, at Band Stand, Bandra, and tweeted a warning to the star. He also tweeted that ‘One Bed Forever’ did not suit our Indian culture, and suggested that the comment should’ve been ‘Friends Forever’ instead of ‘Bed Friends Forever’.

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Ghaziabad, Nand Kishore Gujjar, has written a letter to Union information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar, demanding that the show be taken off air. Gujjar has alleged that the “show was promoting obscenity and vulgarity and was unfit for family viewing”.

The 20 protestors, who were held, were later released on bail. Security has been beefed up outside Salman’s residence following the incident.
