PVR launched three new multiplexes today (9th January) with a total of 19 screens. While the Jaipur multiplex has eight screens, which is the largest in Rajasthan, the Bangalore property has seven screens. The multiplex in Gurgaon has four screens.
The Jaipur property, located in Mall of Jaipur, has 4D and Luxe, both firsts in the state. The total seating capacity of the eight screens is 944. The multiplex has plush recliners, SP4K laser projectors, Dolby Atmos audio and 3D technology.
The newly-opened multiplex is the 13th in Bangalore and the 17th property in Karnataka. It is located in the Bhartiya Mall in Bhartiya City, and it has a seating capacity of 1,343. This is the fifth 4DX in Bangalore and also the second P[XL].
In Gurgaon, this is the seventh property. It is the 12th in Haryana. It is situated in the Elan Town Centre and it has a total of 561 seats. It has recliners, and is equipped with SP4K laser projectors, Dolby 7.1 audio and 3D technology.
With the opening of the three multiplexes in a single day, PVR has reached the 900-screen mark in India and Sri Lanka combined in a matter of 25 years since its inception. The 900 screens are across 181 properties in 78 cities. In financial year 2022-23, the chain has so far opened 63 screens against a target of 100 screens.
