RAJ KUNDRA MOVES COURT FOR QUASHING OF LOC | 24 April, 2025

Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra, on April 23 filed a petition before the Bombay high court for the quashing of a lookout circular (LOC) against him in connection with an alleged case of transmission of explicit content and for offences under the Indecent Representation of Women Act. The criminal proceedings against him and others were initiated in 2021, and a lookout circular was issued by the Bureau of Immigration the same year in connection with the FIR.

Kundra, a person with a British passport and an Overseas Citizen of India, was arrested on April 19, 2021. He was granted bail on September 20, 2021. His lawyer said that in the four years till date, the court had permitted him 20 times to travel abroad on work with certain conditions imposed, and he never flouted any conditions. Invoking the rights to equality and life, the lawyer added that four years on, the court may quash the LOC.

Justices S.V. Kotwal and S.M. Modak on April 23 asked the HC registry to verify and place the matter before the appropriate bench.
