Rakesh Sawant, brother of actress Rakhi Sawant, was arrested on May 7 in an old cheque bouncing case following a warrant issued against him by a court in Bombay. He was produced before the metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri in Bombay, which remanded him to judicial custody till May 22.
The cheque dishonour complaint was lodged against filmmaker Rakesh Sawant by a businessman in 2020, following which he had been arrested. He was later released on conditional bail after he gave an assurance that he would return the money of the complainant.
