‘RANGILEY FUNTER’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 3 November, 2023

AK International Movies’ Rangiley Funter (Marathi; UA) is the story of four school boys who love one girl. Set in a village, it portrays the complexities of young love and societal expectations.

Akshay Gore has written a story which offers little by way of novelty. His screenplay is also very routine. There aren’t too many highs in the drama. Therefore, the audience don’t get involved in the proceedings but view it as passive spectators. Akshay Gore’s dialogues are routine.

Hansraj Jagtap does well as Hari. Yash Kulkarni is good in the role of Yoyo. Rupesh Bane does a fair job as Aarif. Jeevan Karalkar is alright as Vijay. Palak Adsul performs well as Palak. Pritam Adsul (as Danny), Siya Patil (as the teacher), Kishor Choughule (as the teacher), Milind Shinde (as Hari’s father) and the others are adequate.

Nishant Dhapse’s direction is ordinary. Raja Ali’s music is fair. Lyrics (by Nitin Raikwar and Kaustubh Pant) are okay. Phulawa Khamkar’s choreography is functional. Background music (by Ursoola Katoki and Raja Ali) is average. Rajdutt Revankar’s camerawork is so-so. Gangadhar Singare’s art direction is so-so. Siddhesh Santosh More’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Rangiley Funter will find the going at the turnstiles tough.

Released on 3-11-’23 at City Light (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Box Hit Movies. Publicity & opening: poor.
