Ravi Bhagchandka, who produced Sachin – A Billion Dreams, will now make a sports film, Champions, with Aamir Khan and Sony Pictures as producers alongside him. Aamir was supposed to act in the film but because he has taken a sabbatical, another hero will replace him. It will be directed by R.S. Prasanna, and it is based on a Spanish film.
Ravi will also make a film which will be an adaptation of George McCutcheon’s 1902 book, Brewster’s Millions.
Apart from the two films, he is planning a political thriller web series based on a best-selling book by Ashwin Sanghi. There is also a film adaptation of the Argentinian bestseller novel, All Yours, in the pipeline. This film will be a co-production with Sagarika Ghatge Khan and it will be directed by Kanishk Varma (Inside Edge series). A sports biopic is also in the planning stage.
Ravi has been a sports professional for a decade and a half. He is such a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar that his banner is named 200 NotOut, after Sachin’s highest score in ODIs. At that time, Tendulkar was the only cricketer to score a double ton, a feat which was almost unachievable.
