Veteran actor Ravi Patwardhan passed away last night (5th December) in Bombay. He was 83. He complained of breathlessness and had a seizure at home, after which he was rushed to Jupiter Hospital in Thane where he breathed his last around 9.30 p.m. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. His last rites were performed today (6th).
Ravi Patwardhan was a very fine actor who made a huge impact in the Marathi TV serial Aggabai Sasubai. He acted in around two hundred Marathi and Hindi films, and was also a very popular face on Marathi stage. Among his well-known Hindi films are Tezaab, Narsimha, Pratighaat, Humlaa, Thakshak, Ankush, Jhanjhaar and Yeshwant. His better-known Marathi films are Umbartha and Asha Asavya Sun.
