Rhea Chakraborty told the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 7th August that she had booked a flat in Bombay for Rs. 85 lakh after taking a bank loan. She added that she had not used any money of boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput for buying the flat. Rhea’s father also owns a flat in Ulwe (in Raigarh district), which cost Rs. 60 lakh. It has emerged that both the flats were purchased much before Sushant and Rhea even met each other. As regards the two companies floated by Sushant, Rhea was a director in one while her brother and Sushant were directors in both of them. All the three directors had made initial contributions of share money to the tune of Rs. 33,000 each. Rhea’s brother, father and manager were also interrogated. All were questioned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED filed a case against Rhea and her family and accomplices on July 31 on the basis of an FIR by the Bihar police. The FIR was registered on a complaint by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, K.K. Singh who accused Chakraborty and her family of abetting the actor’s suicide on 14th June and siphoning off his money. K.K. Singh has claimed that close to Rs. 15 crore was transferred from Rajput’s account to unknown persons not linked to him. He said that his son’s credit cards were with Rhea Chakraborty.
