Dimple Thawani, the neighbour of Rhea Chakraborty, who claimed to have seen Rhea and her boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, together on 13th June, was questioned by the CBI on 11th October. Sushant was found dead at his flat on 14th June.
On interrogation, Dimple said that she had not seen them together but that someone had told her that the two were together. On her part, Rhea has made a complaint to the CBI for the arrest of Dimple for spreading false news about her (Rhea). Rhea’s mother revealed that Dimple was their neighbour and a fan of Sushant, and she had gone to their (Rhea’s) house once to meet Sushant. The mother wondered why on earth would Dimple say what she did.
Rhea said in her complaint letter that a prima facie case under IPC sections 211 (false charge of offence made with intent to injure) and 203 (giving false information respecting an offence committed) was made out against Dimple Thawani. She added that one of the charges attracted a minimum sentence of seven years in jail.
