‘SACHIN – THE ULTIMATE WINNER’ REVIEW | 13 January, 2023

J.S.R. Productions Pvt. Ltd. and Ganpati Productions’ Sachin – The Ultimate Winner is the story of a budding cricketer.

Sachin (Mukul Cheeru) is in his teens and not only shares his name with ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar but also his passion for cricket. He hero-worships Tendulkar and wants to become a cricketer like him. But his dreams come crashing down when his opponents in school push him down a cliff. Sachin is paralysed. He may never be able to play cricket for the rest of his life. Does Sachin give up or does he bounce back?

Dweep Raj Kochhar has penned a predictable story which doesn’t quite catch the audience’s fancy. The screenplay (Dweep Raj Kochhar, Dhruv Raj and Yuvraj Kochhar) is lacklustre and moves in a rather routine manner. Although the drama is about cricket, there is none of the thrill one associates with the game. Even the trio’s dialogues are too ordinary to be true.

Mukul Cheeru is average as Sachin. Ved Thapar does well in the role of Sachin’s coach. Shivani Sharma is so-so as Sachin’s mother. Muskan Panwar lends routine support as Sachin’s sister, Muskan. Naved Sharma is ordinary as Naved, captain of the opponents’ team. Dhruv Raj (as the opponent team’s coach) and Dweep Raj Kochhar (as milkman Nihal) are passable.

Dweep Raj Kochhar’s direction is not up to the mark. Yuvraj Kochhar and Harish Mangoli’s music is okay while Dweep Raj Kochhar’s lyrics are very average. Raka’s choreography barely passes muster. Suprateek Hui’s background music deserves no separate mention. Gagarin Mishra’s camerawork is ordinary. Action and stunts scenes, choreographed by Yuvraj Kochhar, are devoid of thrill. Ved Thapar’s production designing is okay. Editing (Eye Focus Studios) should’ve been sharper.

On the whole, Sachin – The Ultimate Winner is such a weak attempt that it will prove to be an ultimate loser rather than a winner at the box-office.
