The Bombay city crime branch, which had registered an FIR against one Banwarilal Gurjar from Rajasthan for allegedly uploading a video threatening to eliminate actor Salman Khan and had assumed that he had connections with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang which has been issuing threats to kill the actor since years, has found no link between him and the gang. The 25-year-old has at least 19 email ids, and the police suspect that he had made the video with a view to only getting more views on his YouTube channel.
The police said, they would ask YouTube to block his channel. Meanwhile, a local court on June 18 extended Gurjar’s police custody till June 20.
On June 12, the South Bombay cyber police registered an FIR after Gurjar allegedly uploaded the threat video on his YouTube channel in which he said, “Goldy (Brar), Rohit (Godara), Nitin and Vivek (all associated with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi) are with us. Despite being told to apologise for the black buck killing, he (Salman Khan) hasn’t… However tight his security… we will eliminate him.” The police traced the IP address to Rajasthan, arrested Gurjar from Bundi village and brought him to Bombay on June 16.
