It may be mentioned here that in its coverage of Sushant’s death in the last four months, Republic TV accused Sandeep of being a drug peddler and connected to Dawood. The news channel ran a hashtag asking for Sandeep’s arrest, for 50 days at a stretch while its correspondents kept stalking his car and tried entering his house. According to Sandeep, he was friends with Sushant and had developed a special bond with him due to both being from Bihar. On 14th June, when he reached Sushant’s house on hearing the news of his suicide, he found no one except his (Sushant’s) sister, Meetu, there. Since there was nobody from the family to comply with the procedures, he was forced to take charge.
