Released last week in U.P. (at Kanpur), Impulse Cine Entertainments Pvt. Ltd.’s Sandeh (UA) is a murder mystery. A group of college students in Sitapur embarks on a thrilling journey. However, their fun journey turns into a nightmare when they encounter a murder. What happens thereafter?
Shweta Srivastava has written a childish story, and a screenplay which is very weak. Even her dialogues are dull.
Performances are just about passable. Pulkit Raizada, Riya Kapoor, Pawan Vikram, Pradeep Srivastava, Nitish Bhaluni, Ritika Gupta, Gaurav Kumar, Sonam Saini, RJ Dhruv, Shivani Saumya, Rohit Srivastava, Lokesh Mohan Khattar, Sanjay Asthana, Dinesh Trivedi, Sanjay Raizada, Vijayta Singh, Guddu, Anoopma Awasthi, Dinesh Srivastava, Anshuman, master Tanishq, master Adrij and master Atharva come up with performances ranging from dull to average.
Ayaaz Khan’s direction is poor. Music (by Team Impulse) as well as song picturisations (by Abhay Kumar Saini and Arya Srivastava) hardly deserve separate mention. Prakash Nar’s background music is dull. Anup Kumar Sharma’s camerawork is below average. A. Khan’s action and stunts lack thrill. R. Kumar and N. Khan’s sets are hardly worth a mention. Guru Films and Ram Kishore Prashad’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Sandeh is a debacle.
1st week’s collection at Sapna Cinema, Kanpur was only Rs. 5,859/-.
