SHAFIQ ANSARI DEAD | 3 November, 2021

Noted writer Shafiq Ansari passed away this morning (3rd November) at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at Andheri in Bombay following a prolonged illness. He was 84 and is survived by a son and a daughter. His last rites will be performed today itself at the Oshiwara kabristan.

Shafiq Ansari, who was one of the screenplay and dialogue writers of B.R. Chopra’s Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Baghban (2003), started his career in 1974 with the Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha starrer Dost (1974), for which he penned the dialogues. He then wrote dialogues for Dil Kaa Heera (1979), starring Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Dialogues for Izzatdaar (1990), starring Dilip Kumar, Govinda and Madhuri Dixit, and Pyar Hua Chori Chori (1991), starring Mithun Chakraborty and Gauthami, were also written by Shafiq Ansari.
