Riyom Films’ Shaila (UA) is a love story of Shaila (Sara Khan) and Kunal (Rohit Chaudhary). Sam D’souza, Ranjan Kusugal and Sunil Sharma have penned a routine story which lacks depth. Their screenplay fails to engage the viewers. The drama often becomes so predictable and so lacklustre that the audience actually switch off. The trio’s dialogues are commonplace.
Sara Khan does an average job in the title role. Rohit Chaudhary is ordinary as Kunal. Sonam Arora is just about okay as Nidhi. Aadhvika passes muster as Ankita. Durvesh Arya lends routine support as AJ. Hussain Khan and Ketan Raj Sharma are unimpressive.
Saki Shah’s direction is weak. Ashh K.’s music and Sunil Sharma’s lyrics don’t contribute much. Nitin Sagittarian’s choreography is dull. Tutul Bhattacharya’s background music is below the mark. Mukesh Tiwari’s camerawork is fairly nice. Locations are beautiful. Amarjeet Singh’s art direction is okay. Aniket Ram’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Shaila is a weak fare.
Released on 28-2-’25 at Cinepolis Seawoods (daily 1 show) and another cinema of Bombay thru Reliance Entertainment. Publicity & opening: very poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
