Ajay Devgan’s Shaitaan has been certified ‘UA’ by the Central Board of Film Certification. Interestingly, Gujarati film Vash (2023), of which Shaitaan is a remake, had been granted an ‘A’ certificate. Of course, although Shaitaan is a remake, the ending has been drastically changed from the ending of Vash.
Shaitaan has a running time of 132.15 minutes. Among the material alterations, an abusive word in the film has been replaced with a scream. Effectively, the modification has not affected the running time of the film at all as the running time of the applied version was also 132.15 minutes. The certificate no. is DIL/2/93/2024-MUM. In the case of Vash, a total of 33 seconds of footage was reduced due to the excisions/modifications carried out before the film was cleared for adult viewing. It had a final running time of 116.43 minutes.
