Najma Sayyed, mother of actor Sharib Hashmi and journalist Sohail Johar, and wife of film journalist Z.A. Johar, passed away following multiple organ failure on 12th August in Bombay. She was 79 and had been hospitalised for age-related ailments. Her last rites were performed the same day. She is survived by four sons and two daughters.
