SHIV SENA MAN MOVES SC FOR PROBE INTO NCB | 19 October, 2021

Shiv Sena leader Kishore Tiwari on 18th October moved the Supreme Court seeking a judicial inquiry into affairs of the Narcotics Control Bureau in Bombay and its officials following the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan. Aryan was arrested by the NCB in a case of alleged seizure of drugs from a cruise liner on 2nd October.

Tiwari alleged that NCB’s top officials in Bombay were agents of the BJP. “NCB is now trying to hide its wrong-doings,” Tiwari said, adding, “The NCB court has kept Aryan in jail since there is a court holiday. So, there must also be a review of the judicial system of the NCB court. The SC must review the working of the NCB’s zonal unit in Bombay in the last two years. NCB is being used to settle political scores and drive personal agenda.”

The Sena leader has urged the apex court to take suo moto cognisance to protect the fundamental rights of Aryan Khan who has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act by NCB’s zonal office in Bombay. He sought chief justice N.V. Ramana’s top priority intervention in the manner in which the “biased NCB” is hounding film personalities, models and other celebrities since nearly two years with “mala fide motives”.
