SHRAVAN’S SON SANJEEV, RAHEJA HOSPITAL REFUTE MEDIA CLAIMS | 23 April, 2021

Music director Sanjeev, son of late music director Shravan, has clarified to reporter Rajesh Gaba of Dainik Bhaskar that there is no truth in the story doing the rounds of the media and social media that S.L. Raheja Hospital, where his father passed away yesterday (22nd April), was unwilling to release his body to the family till the bill of Rs. 10 lakh was settled. Sanjeev and his mother were also hospitalised for COVID-19 and hence could not go to Raheja Hospital to claim the body. Shravan’s other music director-son, Darshan, was quarantined at his home as he too had tested positive. It took Darshan a couple of hours to convince his housing society to permit him to leave home to claim the body of his father and complete the insurance formalities. The society did relent finally, after which the formalities took a couple of hours, as is normal. In fact, added Sanjeev while speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, the hospital authorities were extremely cooperative with Darshan. Sanjeev also informed that his dad tested positive two days after returning from the Kumbh Mela.

The hospital itself, in a statement issued, said, “In conjunction with the family, we refute all false claims about holding back the deceased for payments, unverified stories based on hearsay further aggravate the pained family.”

The media reports to the contrary are in bad taste and disgusting, to say the least.
