The stay on the release of Rajkumar Santoshi’s Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh was today (January 24) lifted by the Bombay high court. As a result, the film will hit the screens on January 26.
The city civil court (Borivli division), Dindoshi, Goregaon, Bombay had on January 20 put an embargo on the film’s release till Santoshi deposited Rs. 50 lakh in court which petitioner Y.T. Entertainment Ltd. (company of late financier Raju Shah) claimed was owed by Rajkumar Santoshi to it. Rajkumar Santoshi as well as Santoshi Productions LLP filed writ petitions in the high court against the city civil court order.
The Bombay high court permitted Santoshi to deposit an amount of Rs. 25 lakh with the trial court within a period of four weeks and thereby lifted the embargo on the film’s release.
