‘SULTAN SHAMBHU SUBHEDAR’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 13 May, 2022

Yash Associate & Movies’ Sultan Shambhu Subhedar (Marathi; UA) is about one man’s child being brought up by another after the child is kidnapped by a gang. The foster father, autorickshaw driver Shambhu (Digambar Naik), treats Sultan as he would his own son. What happens when the foster father meets the biological father, Abdul, who wants his son back?

Advocate Prashant Bhelande has penned a story which is devoid of novelty. Dr. Raj Mane’s screenplay is long-drawn and also very boring. The emotions absolutely fail to touch the hearts of the viewers. Dr. Raj Mane’s dialogues are routine.

Yash Girolkar does an average job in the role of Sultan. Digambar Naik is weak as autorickshaw driver Shambhu. Kishore Mahabole, Devendra Dodke, Jaywant Bhalekar, Prashant Bhelande, Simran Kapoor and Jyoti Nisal hardly lend even average support.

Dr. Raj Mane’s direction is pathetic. Arvind Hasabnis’ music and advocate Prashant Bhelande’s lyrics are too ordinary to be true. Jeetu Achrekar’s cinematography is functional. Editing (Shankar Pandey) leaves something to be desired.

On the whole, Sultan Shambhu Subhedar will go largely unnoticed because it is devoid of any merits.
