SUMMONS TO SALMAN KHAN, BODYGUARD | 23 March, 2022

A magistrate court in Bombay on March 22 issued summons to Salman Khan and one of his bodyguards for April 5 in connection with a complaint filed by a journalist that he was assaulted in 2019. According to the complaint, the scribe and his cameraman tried to film Khan in April 2019 while he was cycling, after seeking permission from his bodyguards. However, after Khan noticed and objected, his bodyguards manhandled him and snatched his phone. He added that the D.N. Nagar police station had refused to file his complaint when he approached it.

The court had earlier called for a report from the police. It said that prima facie, there was sufficient material to proceed against them under sections 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
