‘SUNDARNAGAR KI SUNDARI’ REVIEW | 15 August, 2025

Released last week in Bombay, Delhi-U.P., East Punjab and Rajasthan, Chilsag Pictures and London Players’ Sundarnagar Ki Sundari is a comedy. Two neighbouring families come together for a wedding. But the celebration turns into a hilarious roller coaster of drama when the groom’s sister — an aspiring Bollywood actress — hogs the spotlight.

Sachin Gupta’s story and screenplay are not half as funny as they ought to have been. The drama, therefore, never really takes off. Sachin Gupta’s dialogues are okay.

Performances are all average or even less than that. Himanshu Goel, Sanskriti Verma, Abhishek Chavan, Gracy Goswami, Virti Vaghani and Sahas Purswani go through their roles in a mechanical manner.

Sachin Gupta’s direction is weak. Shivang Mathur’s music hardly elevates the proceedings.

On the whole, Sundarnagar Ki Sundari is a poor show.
