‘SUPER 30’ SET FOR HUGE SUNDAY | 14 July, 2019

Sometimes, the universe does all it can to help you. Like the universe may have helped Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30. India, which was considered a hot World Cup cricket finalist, failed to make it in the semi-finals on 10th July and that was the beginning of the good tidings for Super 30. Had India played the finals, the film’s box-office on Sunday (the day the finals were being played) would have been adversely affected. After all, like films, cricket is also a religion in India.

The fact that India lost the semi-final match to New Zealand ensured that the Sunday box-office for Super 30 would be good. And so it was! The Hrithik starrer started slow on Friday but the huge jump in collections on Sunday is an indication that the universe’s help was at play. How else does one explain that the day may close at Rs. 22-23 crore for the film!

Early indications suggest that the film, which had an opening day of Rs. 11.83 crore and netted Rs. 18.19 crore on Saturday, may collect Rs. 22 or even 23 crore today. If that happens, as are the indications, the film’s first weekend would close at Rs. 52 or 53 crore i.e. more than four times the first day’s collections. And that would be something!

As they say, when the universe helps…..
