SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT DEATH CASE HANDED OVER TO CBI, CENTRE TELLS SC | 5 August, 2020

The Centre told the Supreme Court today (5th August) that it had handed over the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as recommended by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. The chief minister had made this demand on 4th August. The lawyer of Sushant Singh’s father has aleged that evidence was being tampered with by the Bombay police. The apex court has asked the Maharashtra government, the Bihar government, the Centre and the family of Sushant Singh Rajput to file their replies within three days. The Maharashtra government has also been asked to file a progress report of its investigation. The case will now be heard next week.

Meanwhile, the SC is also hearing Rhea’s plea today, to transfer the complaint by Sushant’s father against her, made in Bihar, to Bombay.
