Priyanka and Meetu Singh, sisters of late Sushant Singh Rajput, on 6th October petitioned the Bombay high court to set aside an FIR filed against them by the Bandra (Bombay) police on September 7, based on Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint alleging forgery and procuring fake medical prescriptions for him. A bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and M.S. Karnik posted the matter for hearing on October 13, saying that there was no urgency.
In her petition last month, Rhea had accused the two sisters of getting Sushant prescriptions of certain banned medicines under the telemedicine rules though he was already consulting doctors in Bombay. She claimed, the medicines which were given in conspiracy with a Delhi-based doctor on false prescriptions may have resulted in a chronic anxiety attack and led to Sushant committing suicide. The sisters termed Rhea’s action “unreasonable and arbitrary”, and said, the FIR made no case against them and hence should be set aside. They added that there was no evidence to show that the medicines prescribed were administered to Sushant or anyone else. The FIR has since been transferred to the CBI.
