The Supreme Court today (October 19) refused to list for urgent hearing a plea seeking a stay on the October 25 release of Indra Kumar’s Thank God over alleged derogatory references to Lord Chitragupt. The matter will be heard on November 1. Meanwhile, the Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh starrer will release on October 25 on the occasion of Diwali.
The film has been surrounded by controversies ever since its first trailer was released. It has been alleged that Lord Chitragupt, the character of Ajay Devgan in the film, has been shown in bad light and hence has hurt the religious sentiments of some Hindus.
