‘THE KERALA STORY’ PRODUCERS DONATE MONEY FOR ‘RECONVERSION’ | 18 May, 2023

The producers of The Kerala Story on May 17 announced that they would donate Rs. 51 lakh to a reconversion initiative of Aarsha Vidya Samajam, an ashram for study and dissemination of Sanatan dharm in Thiruvananthapuram. The film’s producers are calling it a ‘Protect Our Daughters’ movement, an initiative to bring back girls who have embraced Islam, with the help and support of the Samajam which claims to have reconverted 7,000 individuals from Islam back to Hinduism between 1999 and 2023.

On May 17, producer Vipul Shah had 26 women, so reconverted, flown from Kerala to Bombay, accompanied by members of the ashram. They addressed a press conference organised by Vipul Shah. The ashram authorities spoke of its anti-indoctrination and de-brainwashing centre.
