Released last week in Gujarat, Delhi-U.P. and East Punjab, Nandi Pictures Pvt. Ltd’s The Legend Of Sudarshan Chakra is the sequel to The Rise Of Sudarshan (2023).
Anil Kulchainiya has written a story and screenplay on the life of Jain saint Sudarshan Lal Maharaj. It talks about the saint’s mission to foster family unity and promote abstinence from social vices. While the drama will appeal to his followers, it has little for the others. Even his dialogues are too ordinary to make an impact.
Vivek Anand Mishra, Atul Tiwari, Himani Shivpuri and Anant Mahadevan deliver fair performances.
Anil Kulchainiya’s direction is weak. Satish Dehra’s music is okay. Sudhakar Sharma’s lyrics are in synch with the film’s mood. Dharmendra Jawda’s background music is below the mark. Camerawork (by S. Kumar Bhagat) leaves something to be desired. Gul-Sahil’s editing is loose.
On the whole, The Legend Of Sudarshan Chakra will do well only in areas where Sudarshan Lal Maharaj’s disciples reside.
