Geetai Productions’ The Rabbit House (UA) is a horror drama. A newly-wed couple goes to Himachal Pradesh and checks into a house with 16 doors. The wife suddenly goes missing. The prime suspect is the husband. But as the investigation progresses, it emerges that the house itself holds eerie secrets. It is also revealed that the husband suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). What is the truth and how is it unearthed?
Vaibhav Kulkarni has written a fairly interesting story but it loses steam at some points. His screenplay succeeds in sending chills down the spine but the drama also has some predictable turns and twists. The climax is not very fulfilling. Vaibhav Kulkarni’s dialogues are so-so.
Amit Riyaan does fairly well. Karishma is alright. Padmanabh Gaikwad is okay. Suresh Kumbhar lends average support. Gagan Pradeep has his moments. Purva makes her presence felt at places. Sujata Mogal is ordinary. Preeti Sharma, Abhi Hajare, Vaibhav Kulkarni, Swara Kulkarni, Yogesh Kulkarni and the others do as desired.
Vaibhav Kulkarni’s direction is quite nice. Padmanabh Gaikwad’s music is routine. His background score is quite effective. Lyrics (Vijay Utekar, Navadeep Panchal, Shubh, Vaibhav Kulkarni, Motiram Katwal and Mukul Sharma) are okay. Pratik Pathak’s camerawork is decent. Suresh Kumbhar’s art direction is proper. Vaibhav Kulkarni’s editing is quite sharp.
On the whole, The Rabbit House is an average fare but it will go largely unnoticed because of lack of novelty and also due to lack of promotion.
