THREE UK CINEMA CHAINS CANCEL ‘THE KERALA STORY’ | 27 May, 2023

Three cinema chains in Britain, which focus largely on the Midlands, have cancelled scheduled screenings of The Kerala Story, after receiving complaints from local Muslim communities. The three chains are Light Cinemas, Reel Cinemas and Showcase Cinemas. The places where these chains were to screen the film are Bradford, Walsall, Burnley, Blackburn, etc. Ultimately, the film could open in only around 30 screens, grossing just £ 71,000 (Rs. 72 lakh) in the first week in the UK.
