An online post by actor-director Tinnu Anand, threatening to beat barking stray dogs with a hockey stick in his Malad West (Bombay) locality has led to angry outbursts from animal lovers and activists. Those whom the post has angered are now demanding an apology from the veteran.
Tinnu Anand stated in his building WhatsApp group that it was “terrifying” to see the local dogs bark at him at night after he returned from a difficult film shooting. He threatened to beat the barking dogs with a hockey stick and asked animal lovers to take all the dogs inside their homes, failing which they would have to face his wrath.
Roshan Pathak, activist and legal advisor to Pure Animal Lovers (PAL) Foundation, said, “I messaged Anand that it is a crime to physically beat dogs and that it is natural for dogs to bark.” PAL is demanding an apology from Tinnu Anand. PETA has expressed surprise that Tinnu Anand has shown such anger towards the mutes.
