AJ Media Corporation’s Token The Treasure (UA) is the story of a middle-class family which lives on the outskirts of Agra city. When things become very tough, the family sells off its haveli. To its horror, the family soon realises that the ancestral home had a lot of hidden treasure. The game now is to anyhow get the haveli back.
The script, penned by Ravikala Gupta, is hackneyed and boring for a good part. This is because the light moments fail to elicit the laughter one would associate with them. The drama is so insipid that it fails to evoke emotions of any kind from the viewers. Consequently, the story and screenplay unfold without in any way involving the viewers. Even Gupta’s dialogues are too commonplace to be true.
Performances are mostly average. Abhishek Duhan is alright. Riva Kishan does an ordinary job. Aroon Bakshi is fairly nice. Anup Jalota is just okay. Jasleen Matharu lends ordinary support. Shruti Panwar makes her presence felt a bit. Deepshikha Nagpal is fair. Sanjay Swaraj does a reasonably decent job. Khushi Gupta and Tushar Acharya are adequate.
Ravikala Gupta’s direction is weak. Music (Dilip Sen and Rani Hazarika) is alright. Lyrics (M. Prakash and Shiv Sagar Singh) are just about okay. Yogesh Koli’s camerawork passes muster. Editing (by Sunil Yadav and Arun D. Yadav) leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Token The Treasure will turn out to be a debacle at the ticket windows.
