Veteran makeup artiste of Hindi cinema, Pandhari Jukar, passed away at a nursing home at Dadar in Bombay on 17th February due to multiple ailments. He was 88 years old. He is survived by four children. His funeral at the Shivaji Park crematorium was attended by many people.
Juker had done the makeup for leading actors like Dilip Kumar, Nargis, Madhubala, Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala and many others. He was a commercial artist who ventured into makeup by joining Rajkamal Studios. He did makeup for artistes for 60 long years. He was the favourite of top filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, Kamal Amrohi, B.R. Chopra, Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai.
A prayer meeting will be held tomorrow (22nd) at Suryavanshi Kshatriya Sabha Gruh & Banquet Hall, opp. Catering College & Antonia Desilva Technical School, Dadar (West), Bombay between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
