Twitter yesterday (February 4) penalised Kangana Ranaut by deleting three of her tweets, stating that they violated its rules. The platform, however, did not specify which rules the tweets violated.
One of the posts which was taken down by the microblogging site was a reply to cricketer Rohit Sharma who had posted a tweet with coordinated hashtags #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda. The posts were indirectly reacting to international pop star Rihanna who had tweeted in support of the farmers’ agitation in India. In one tweet, Kangana referred to farmers as “terrorists causing ruckus” and to Sharma in a derogatory manner.
