The government of Uttarakhand has permitted cinemas in the state to reopen but the condition is that they will function at 50%, that too, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. only. Although cinemas in many states have reopened after the second lockdown, new film releases in cinemas still remain a dream because Bombay (Maharashtra) is still under lockdown. Consequently, despite the orders of various state governments to reopen cinemas, the actual reopening is very limited as the reopened cinemas hardly have any software to play. The situation in Uttarakhand is not expected to be any different from the rest of the country.
