‘VAAMA: LADHAI SANMANACHI’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 23 May, 2025

Omkareeshwara’s Vaama: Ladhai Sanmanachi (Marathi; UA) is the story of a woman who takes a stand in life and fights for her rights. Sarla (Kashmira Kulkarni) is deceived by her husband who promises her that she would be allowed to do her IAS after marriage. But she soon realises that her husband’s ego will not permit him to allow her to become an IAS officer. Sarla first tries to save the marriage. But ultimately, she stands up for her self-respect.

Ashok R. Kondke has written a very predictable story and screenplay. Scenes are so routine that nothing makes any impact on the viewers. The drama, therefore, proceeds in a dull manner without in any way involving the audience. Tarang Vaidya’s dialogues are so-so.

Kashmira Kulkarni is average as Sarla. Dr. Mahesh Kumar is ordinary as Suresh. Kunal Kumar Bantallo lends dull support as Aalok. Jui Belkhande delivers a routine performance in the role of Priti. Tirthanand Rao is not quite up to the mark as Joshi. Ganesh Divekar and Gautami Patil (in an item song) pass muster. Others are okay.

Ashok R. Kondke’s direction is dull. Music (Hriju Roy and Suchir Kulkarni) is just about passable. Lyrics (Mandar Cholkar and Tarang Vaidya) are ordinary. Mudassar Khan’s song picturisations are fair. Viral Lavan and Sudesh Sawant do a routine job of the background music. Dheeraj Dinkar Katkade’s camerawork is not up to the mark. Robert John Fonseca’s action and stunt scenes hardly afford thrill. Ravi R. Kondke’s production designing is average. Prakash Jha’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Vaama: Ladhai Sanmanachi is a poor fare.
