Veteran Marathi and Hindi film actor Jayant Savarkar died on 24th July in Thane due to age-related issues. He was 87. Besides films, he also acted in theatre and on television.
In his six-decade-long career, he was seen in such Marathi films as Hari Om Vithala, Gadbad Gondhal, 66 Sadashiv, Bakaal and Hindi films like Yugpurush, Vaastav and Singham.
He was in hospital for around two weeks for low blood pressure. His health deteriorated on 23rd night following which he was put on ventilator. He passed away around 11 a.m. on 24th.
