The Association of Voice Artistes organised a conference of the voice industry on 24th August in Bombay to understand the pros and cons of Artificial Intelligence and how it will impact the dubbing and advertising industries. Producers, voice over artistes, coordinators, sound engineers and other technicians attended the conference for an open discussion and knowledge sharing. Besides senior members of AVA, experts in the field also addressed the gathering.
It was concluded at the conference that AI can neither be wished away nor taken lightly because it could render a host of creative people in the voicing industry insignificant and redundant. It was also decided that to avoid such a scenario, concrete steps to safeguard the interests of the members of the voice industry would have to be taken soon. AVA will, therefore, hold another conference on the same topic in the near future so that members are not caught off-guard.
