Write Click Production’s Who Am I (UA) is a philosophical drama about life and death. Bhavitavya (Chetan Sharma) is a student of philosophy. He is fond of Aditi (Rishika Chandani) who is also a student of philosophy. Bhavitavya, who has been a favourite of his professor, V.L.N. Sir (Shashie Verma), goes into a depression after the latter’s sudden demise. Aditi is his emotional anchor at that time, and, in a moment of passion, the two get physical.
However, Bhavitavya leaves the material world and lives like a saint with a Swamiji (Surendra Rajan) he meets on the banks of river Narmada. He returns home after a long time to find that Aditi has delivered their baby. What happens thereafter?
Ashok Jamnani has written the story and screenplay based on his own novel, Ko Aham. Kallol Mukherjee has penned the adapted screenplay. The drama unfolds like a documentary and is, therefore, extremely boring rather than being entertaining. Too much of philosophy serves to bore the viewers who find the drama drab, dull and abstract. Ashok Jamnani and Kallol Mukherjee’s dialogues aren’t anything to dance about.
Chetan Sharma is weak as Bhavitavya. Rishika Chandani is okay as Aditi. Surendra Rajan lends average support as Swamiji. Shashie Verma is routine as Prof. V.L.N. Others pass muster.
Shireesh Khemariya’s direction is below the mark. Abhinav Singh’s music and background score are dull while his lyrics are average. Shashank Virag’s cinematography is fair. Dhwani Vora’s production designing, and Garima Rana’s art direction are average. Saksham Yadav’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Who Am I is a dull fare and will bomb at the box-office.
