Popular writer Mairaj Zaidi passed away at his residence on February 29 in Dandupur (Prayagraj). He was 76 and had been ailing since quite some time. He is survived by three sons and two daughters.
Mairaj Zaidi had written the screenplay and/or dialogues for such such television serials as Jhansi Ki Rani, Veer Shivaji, Shobha Somnath Ki, Aapki Antara and Raja Ka Baja. He had also directed several stage-plays and written lyrics for them. He used to occasionally also act in films and TV serials.
